On Tuesday I got my new Nokia 5800 xpress music - it totally rocks and I think its going to change my life (Ok, maybe it wont do that - but it sure will help me twitter more, check my mail whenever and look more trendy - hehehe)Another cool thing also happened on Tuesday...my mom arrived back in Cape Town after a month of travelling alone. As always she looked fab and didn't look at all like she had just walked 800km across alot of Spain (how does she do it?).
On Saturday I am going for my first facial (yup,I did just say first). I'm not really sure why I have never been for one before, but a few months ago it dawned on me that its definitely time I went for one (you know, just to try it out). So I booked an appointment. While i was at it, I thought why not try some other things I haven't tried, So I decided to have the eyebrow and lash tint at the same time...i mean, how bad an idea can that be?
At the moment I am trying to fight off some ninja flu germs that seem to be picking on me. So, I'm off to curl up under some blankets with some hot tea and a book....
Ps - I am digging Lily Allen's look in the above Chanel handbag ad - I wish I could afford that bag and wear a crown without looking insane ;)

You will love getting a facial – your skin feels so amazing afterwards! I must warn you, the extraction part isn’t so pleasant – but is quickly over – I just wish someone would have warned me! Enjoy, I am looking forward to your feedback!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the facial...and being at home and the new phone and having your mommy home!
ReplyDeleteNo ways. Your Mom just walked across Spain? Hells!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure I just saw a link for that...did she blog about it?
Dt - hope so. I will share details after :)
ReplyDeleteRuby - Thanks. Well if i get rid of the ninja germs being at home will be awesome
Ches - I wrote about it. She did a walk called "the camino" - click on the camino link in this post: http://www.beingbrazen.com/2009/07/gym-note-mom-missing-and-quote.html
Enjoy!! Let us know how it was? ;) Hope you feel better soon. x
ReplyDeleteI've never gone for a bikini wax ... I want to though. In fact this summer I WILL!
ReplyDeleteoelala!! facials can be addictive...so beware!! :D
ReplyDeleteThumbs up for your new phone and mom being back!
Hope you feel much better soon!!
:D
I had my first facial a few years ago and it was AMAZING! Oh, adnn that thing they give you to change into: it's kind of like a strapless top, you pull it on over your head and tie the drawstring. I had to ask for help because I thought it was a pillowcase... Quite embarrassing!
ReplyDelete@Helen..HAHAAAAA! so funny...:)
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, the first time I also didn't know what to do, I tied it above my shoulders round my neck, then I figured somethings wrong.. :O
Does anyone leave their hair natural?
ReplyDeleteI've never been for a facial either and I don't think I ever will. I can't bear it when people touch my face and since I have such sensitive and acne-prone skin I'm convinced I'll end up with mass break-outs after a facial - most of my friends say they experience breakouts after a facial but they love them. I guess it's my quirk that I don't like the idea of some pawing all over my face. On the flip side I don't wig out getting a brazilian and most people think that's weird.
I love Lilly Allen - she looks gorgeous.
I've never had a facial either and your comments are making it sound like we've been missing out. If anyone can please recommend a good facial place in Joburg(North) i'd be very grateful.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the facial. Hope it's a good one. My favourite is when they put on a face mask and then give you a hand massage. The lash tint will change your life. you won't need mascara. I'm a beauty treatment slut so I do it all. Facials, waxes, tinting, massages. it does help that my brother owns a beauty spa so I get a discount.
ReplyDeleteAm also loving that bag. it's my dream to own a Chanel 2.55.
I think wearing the crown while fighting the ninja flu germs will scare off the germs, AND you can chalk the looking insane up to being sick! It's a win-win :)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the facial will feel wonderful and I hope you feel better SOON!!!
ReplyDeleteI have never been for a facial. I do have a face though. Bonus!
ReplyDeleteI have never had a facial before (always wanted to treat myself to one though). I really don't know why I just don't go, maybe bring along my best friend and make a day of it. Seems like it would be really relaxing!
ReplyDeleteI had a facial once, many years ago - remember it being pretty good. I'm not really a beauty therapist type of girl though, have never even been for a proper massage, or a manicure. I've done a few waxes and I had my eyebrows shaped (want to do that again soon!) but otherwise I prefer the DIY approach.
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend is fabulous chick!
Your mom sounds amazing. I want to walk across Spain too! I love facials. Wish I could afford them now, but alas, I'm in frugal mode. Sigh. So jealous. Have fun getting yours!
ReplyDeleteOooh! I had my first facial on my honeymoon! Loved it!
ReplyDeleteYour mom rocks.
Hope the flu ninja had it's ass kicked.
How was your facial?! ooooh, tell me! :)
ReplyDeleteI have never been for a facial either! Let me know how it was.... If it's worth the effort. I have really good skin (not meaning to sound boastful, I just take good care of it and drink loads of water) so is it worth my while?
