Its for you...

Annoyingly Its only wednesday today - I was so hoping that when i woke up this morning it would be Saturday (though it would be kinda hard explaining to my boss how i overslept for 3 days..lol).

Today I really did not feel like posting anything - but because i knew you would be sad if i didnt, i thought I should at least do an "its for you..." post. This way we all get to be caring and sharing (fabulous, i know)

By now you should know, but in case you forgot...
Heres how it works: I answer a few random questions - then you answer them as a comment (if you like). Easy Peasy *winks*

1. Song of the moment: "Sway" by The Kooks
2. Drink of choice: almost anything without caffeine
3. Word/s of the week: "Pine" and "trot"
4. Currently lusting after: i-phones, ankle boots and the True Blood season 1 box set
5. If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be? In Los Angeles, Hanging out and partying with my friend Mish Mish for her birthday today.
6. Modern city apartment or small country house? Right now id love a modern city apartment.
7. Do you hug and/or kiss people hello? I do tend to hug most people hello. I don't usually kiss people hello and if i do I only kiss on the cheek.

A little older and a little wiser

This year I turned 29! I wont lie to you...for a little while, before my birthday, I freaked out a bit, all I kept thinking was "hectic, its only one year until i'm 30!".
I've never been one to care about age, but when i realised that my twenties were nearing the end I felt a bit sad. I thought about the list I had made of things i wanted to do before I was 30 and wondered if there was anyway I could achieve all of them in a year (may be impossible)....

Aging is a funny thing , it makes most of us feel that we need to have certain things at certain ages......and lets be honest, thats not really true. Who can say what the "right age" is for everyone to do certain things anyway? True, I may not have achieved all the goals I originally set out for myself when i was younger - but now I have new goals and different priorities.

Im ok with getting older.....I just think sometimes I need to remind myself that its ok if my life isn't all planned out or "normal" :)

Saturday night I had a fabulous party. I drank too much, talked too much and I smiled so much my face started to hurt - and as the clock struck twelve and another year passed by (and i didnt turn into a pumpkin) I felt awesome (though that could have been the shooters).

It was a great night and a great way to celebrate getting older and probably getting a bit wiser too :) I have a feeling that 29 is going to be a very good year *smiles*

Post party pathetic

After my birthday weekend, I feel like Garfield in this cartoon:I'm not usually a big drinker, but i will admit freely that on my birthday I always tend to get a bit carried away *winks*

This morning I woke up feeling VERY tired and under the weather. Considering my party was on Saturday, I am starting to wonder if a hangover can come and go the day after the madness and then surprise attack you on the second day too??

A while ago I read this funny article that gives hangovers a star rating from 1 to 6..heres a look at a the worst one (Mine, was thankfully not this bad):

· Six Star Hangover: Otherwise known as the "Infinite Nut smacker" You wake up on your bathroom floor. For about 2 seconds you look at the ceiling, wondering if the cool refreshing feeling on your cheek is the bathroom tile or your vomit from 5 hours ago. It is amazing how your roommate was as drunk as you, but somehow managed to get up before you. You try to lift your head. Not an option. Then you inadvertently turn your head too quickly and smell the funk of 13 packs of cigarettes in your hair. Suddenly you realize you were smoking, but not ultra lights... some jackass handed you Marlboro reds, and you smoked them like it was your second full time job. You look in the mirror only to see remnants of the stamp "Ready to Rock" faintly atop your forehead... the stamp on the back of your hand that has magically appeared on your forehead by alcoholic osmosis. You have to be to work in t-minus 14 minutes and 32 seconds and the only thing you can think of wearing is your "hello kitty" pajamas and your slippers.

Ps - Dont worry, darling readers I promise that soon I shall share some party details, the answer to my current poll (how old am I now) and possibly a party photo (maybe tomorrow) x

Babblings from the almost birthday girl

This weekend is my birthday (on Sunday) and my party (on Saturday night). I'm actually starting to get very excited for my party. I have no doubt in my mind that I will have a good time. Ive been practicing my essential birthday party lines: "please make mine a double", "because i am the birthday girl" and "Just bring me the whole bottle and a shot glass".... heehehhee.... *winks*

Last night I watched the movie "Seven Pounds" starring Will Smith - it was really great, sad and bittersweet. If you haven't seen it, dont worry I wont ruin it for you.

I am still trying to stay away from caffeine. In the last 3 weeks Ive only had 1 cup of coffee and absolutely no coke - pretty good, hey. Now if only I could stay away from sweet, chocolate baked goods (yes, chocolate brownie's I am talking about you).

You may have noticed that I have a poll up this week (on the right) - if you feel like guessing how old I will be on Sunday please go ahead and vote :)

All I wanna do is have some fun

As I hurried out of the apartment this morning I randomly grabbed a copy of "The very best of Sheryl Crow" to listen to on my way to work.

I popped in the CD and as the first song began to play a rush of happy emotions twirled through me.... I think its safe to assume that a few people in the traffic got to hear my stunning (Ok, maybe a bit out of tune) singing voice this morning *grins*.

While I happily bobbed my head and sang "all I wanna do" at the top of my lungs, I realised just how long it had been since i had last heard Sheryl. It had definitely been way too long....

often I find that listening to an old favourite song, that you haven’t heard in a while, can be just like reconnecting with a long lost friend. It brings up lots of memories and gets you smiling.

Whats one of your favourite old songs that always gets you singing?

Current addictions

* Pizza - Lately I been madly craving pizza. This weekend I had pizza twice and today I have leftover pizza for lunch (yum). My favourite pizza's at the moment are bacon & banana and pepperoni.

* Sleeping - Due to the cold weather I seem to be trying to retreat under my bed covers whenever possible. Getting up in the morning is almost impossible and I can see that me and the "snooze" button are going to become very well aquainted this season.
>
* Chance by Chanel - Ok, this is actually a rather long time addiction. Someone recommended "chance" to me about 6 years ago and I trotted off and bought a bottle. Since then I have never let myself run out of it. When i put it on it always puts me in such a great mood.
>
* Virtual trip planning - Yes, the travel bug seems to be whispering sweet nothings into my ear again. Lately I have found myself googling and dreaming of far away places often. At the moment the places I most want to travel to are: London (again), Paris, Rome and Barcelona.

* Cocoa butter moisturizer - I love the smell of cocoa butter. The smell always conjures up images of sun-kissed summers and beautiful beaches in my mind. At the moment i am loving Vaselines cocoa butter body lotion. Its great for helping dry winter skin.
*
What are you currently addicted to?

Fido vs Feline

After much thought and a few close encounters of the feline kind I have come to realise that I am not a cat person.

While some people love a cats graceful ways, meowing sounds and long whiskers I cant help but find cats annoying. Cats have such a snobby vibe about them. They trot around like they own the place and they order people around (Im convinced their meowing is a flurry of orders we just dont understand).

I will agree that cats may very well be more intelligent than dogs (and maybe even a few humans). This is what worries me. I think if cats could they actually would attempt to take over the world. Sometimes i catch cats giving me "evil eye" looks and I know they are up to something. Seriously, if i had a cat I would be scared, because I think cats are plotting against people! (where do you think they wander off to? cat plotting meetings, of course)
*
Dogs are wonderful, they listen, they protect, you can take them for walks and they can actually be trained. They never seem to want anything but your approval and love.

In my opinion there are only two kinds of people - cat people and dog people (nearly everyone likes one more than the other) - I'm definitely a dog person.

Are you a cat or dog person?

Camping? in a tent? no thanks

I think many people have a romantic view of tent camping - Being outdoors with the sounds of nature, huddling around a campfire, watching the sunrise....Well, I dont.

Please tell me why people even need to camp? I see no point. Didn't man create houses so we didnt have to stay in tent-like things and caves?
*
I have gone camping a few times (i was dragged) and each time I come to the same conclusion: camping and I are not going to be friends. We are just too different.
*
I dont know about you, but If i go on holiday I dont want to sleep on the floor in a tent, I dont want to use a flashlight while i stumble around in dark scary places, I dont want to use the woods as my bathroom and I certainly dont want to sleep while bugs and wild animals roam free around me (and in my overactive imagination).

When I go away I prefer to have a soft bed to sleep in, walls, an actual bathroom and electricity.....

Please dont get me wrong I do like the outdoors, I just dont ever want to be out there too long *chuckles*
>
Do you like camping?

Its for you......

I must admit, I am feeling rather bleak today. I think this feeling has been brought on by work frustration, , PMS (AKA poor me syndrome) and "just-got-back-from-holiday" blues...

Because I would rather not bore you to tears with a grouchy rambling post I decided that today I should put up an "its for you post....". at least then I can read all your great answers and keep myself distracted :)

How it always works: I will answer a few random questions. Then you (yes, you!) will answer them too in my comments section - Then you can read something and so can I.... sharing is caring, darling blog readers....ok, here goes...

1. Thought for the day: I need another holiday
2. Song of the moment: "Fear" by Lily Allen
3. Drink of the moment: Red, red wine
4. Currently I spend too much time: rambling, over analysing and talking to myself
5. Word or quote of the week: "not all who wander are lost" - J.R.R Tolkien
6. Currently annoyed by: the voices in my head and work
7. Currently reading: blogs, online reviews and mags
8. Last movie you watched: Australia
9. Currently day dreaming about: pizza, winning the lottery, planning a trip to Europe and coffee
10. Currently enjoying: Funny TV shows, anything with cheese, the colour grey and rainy weather

May goal and polls

The sad news is: My holiday is over *sigh* and I am back at work.... the good news is: now I have time to blog again *grins*

May is always a very contemplative month for me, as its the month I become a year older . This month my goals are to:

1. Run at least 3 times a week (and try not to collapse)
2. Get my car cleaned inside and out (its time)
3. Plan a fabulous birthday party (and drink a bit too much)
4. Stay off caffeine (yes, folks I am still caffeine free)
5. Study everyday (even if it is boring)
6. Eat smaller dinners and bigger breakfasts
7. Spend alot less money

In my last poll I asked the question: "What does the Boyf do that really annoys Brazen" - the answer with the most votes was: Never answers his phone - sorry, peeps but that is incorrect.

Honestly, The Boyf doesn't do alot that annoys me, but the one thing he does that really annoys me is making alot of mess. He has the amazing talent of making a neat, organised room into a chaotic, disorganised mess in a matter of minutes.
Though he is way better at cleaning up than when we first met, I have started to realise the messy disorganisation is just part of who he is and he is probably always going to be the messy one.......... and I think I can accept that (well, most of the time) *winks*
*
What does your partner do that really annoys you?

A new look

Im sure you have noticed my brand new blog header (pretty, hey?). Kat over at Anything Goes made it for me (thank you Kat, you rock!)

I think May is the perfect month to give my blog a "new look" - because this month I have been blogging a whole year (how time flies) and its my birthday month (which always makes it the best month of the whole year)
*
What do you think?

10 things i learnt this weekend

1.mountain biking uphill on a stony path is very hard, not very comfortable and may cause swear words to fly out of my mouth.
2. I find padded cycling shorts hysterically funny
3. cows with horns (aka bulls) that appear out of nowhere and just stare at you are rather scary.
4. I will always end up over eating on holiday.
5. I do have some Internet access where i am at the moment (notice this nice little blog post)
6. Afternoon naps can do wonders for your mood.
7. The Boyf is capable of stepping on a snake without freaking out (how does he do it?)
8. Sitting around a table for every meal is great.
9. Homemade bread is so delicious - i think i should try making my own.
10. People always seem to do things on holiday they wouldn't usually do (why is that?)
