10 Things I learnt this weekend

1. Some people will stand in insanely long lines, for hours, to buy sale clothes - but I just can't do it..i dont have the power.
2. Its totally ok to spend most of the day in bed.
3. Changing room mirrors and lights are evil - sometimes they make me want to cry.
4. I need to change my diet asap (good-bye my dear fast food friends, i will miss you)
5. Sometimes I am the biggest hypocrite i know
6. Retail therapy makes you feel great....until you check your bank balance (time to break open my piggy bank).
7. Terminator Salvation was very cool
8. Staying away from the computer for a whole weekend can be a great idea- as long as you can get over the internet withdrawals ;)
9. Doing exercises at home can be just as good as going to the gym - who knew!
10. If you dont love yourself , how can expect other people to

Moonwalk Friday!

Insanity, boot-alitis and meeting bloggers

Lately Ive been way more nutty than usual. It could be the harsh weather here, the moon cycle or the odd detox juice ive been drinking...I can't say for sure...all I know is that its starting to annoy me (and probably the The Boyf too).
I think I need to start getting my ducks in row - and then try keep them away from the crazy pills *heehee*.

Today I am going to be buying some boots (yes, i said some). You see, I am currently sufferring from a chronic case of boot-alitis (aka boot buying addiction). I am hoping that buying the final 2 pairs of boots i am currently obsessing over will cure me of this addiction for a while *chuckles* (I may share some photos of them soon)

Ive been thinking that it might be cool to meet some fellow bloggers in "real" life. When i first started blogging I never thought that I would want to meet other bloggers (as i blog anonymously), but now I'm starting to think it might be fun & interesting.

Have you met other bloggers before? Is there a blogger you would like to meet?

Its for you....

I thought today would be a good day for an "its for you..." post, because honestly im more in the mood to read what you have to say than write a whole post right now *grins*

For those of you who are not familiar with this regular -
Here's how it works: I will answer a few random questions, then you (yes, you!) will also answer them in my comments section.....Why? because sharing is caring, darlings *winks*

ok, here goes...
1. Thought for the day: Thank goodness its payday tomorrow!
2. Song of the moment: "Bleed 2 Feed" by CC Adcock
3. Drink of the moment: Vodka, lemonade and lime
4. Favourite snack right now: Hot toast with Bovril or peanut butter & honey on it (yum)
5. Currently I spend too much time... on the internet, generally rambling and obsessing over boots I want to buy
6. Do you have a "lucky charm"? Well....kind of. When i fly overseas by myself I always pack a small , porcelain, painted elephant (that my mom bought for me in Thailand) into my hand luggage. Somehow it makes me feel better (its odd, i know)
7. Currently reading? "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova (so far its brilliant)
8. Last movie you watched? "Powder Blue" - great movie, Plus Jessica Biel was a surprisingly hot stripper in it.

Beautiful bouncy blow

I'm a bit of a hair salon blow dry addict....

Since the age of 16 I have been going to hair salons as often as I can. Sometimes for a cut, sometimes for a colour (lately i box dye), BUT always for a blow dry ;)

You see, I have unruly curly hair (which can be ok at times, but isn't very glam) and though I should have mastered the art of blow drying my own hair straight by now, I have not.

For years I was a fan of the sleek, super straight blow dry or "GHD" look - but no more......now I am completely loving the blowdry and curlers effect (lets call it "a beautiful, bouncy blow").

How I get a beautiful bouncy blow effect: I go to my hair salon and my super cool hairdresser -lets call her "Tinkerbell" because she works magic and is small- washes my hair and then while blow drying, puts sections of my hair in large curlers (aka rollers). Then after 30 - 40 minutes of this, "Tinkerbell" takes the curlers out and Taaa daaa....fabulous bouncy, sexy hair!

A note: Annoyingly, the recession is making it rather hard to go to the hair salon as much as I would like lately, So, Ive been thinking it may be time to invest in a kickass hairdryer and some curlers - then I can try do this look at home sometimes ;)

Whats your favourite hairstyle? Do you visit the hairdresser often?

Ps -photo is of me with blow dryed hair

I love getting stuff in the mail

Yesterday, i went to the post office to pick up a package, sent all the way from Malta, by my friend Carlinn (check out her blog, Superficial Girls, here)

When I opened the package I found: a card, C2000 lipstick, sparkly eyeshadow, a sweet Kinder treat and a cute necklace (click above photo to enlarge) - what an awesome surprise!

Though I love it all, i have to say the crown shaped pendant on a silver necklace is my favourite thing. Isn't it cute? (photo below)

Thank you so much, Carlinn.... x<

Current addictions

* Country Road - This Australian fashion brand is so great. Love their clothing and accessories -especially their leather handbags. Click here to visit their website.

*Steers burgers - Lately I have really been enjoying Steers burgers. I am totally hooked on the caramelised onion and cheese burger. Not very healthy, but soooo yum.

* Dreamy vampires - Thanks to the Twilight books and True Blood series, vampires are "cool" again - and are as drool worthy as ever. I have always been a fan of a great vampire story (Interview with a vampire, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Lost Boys, etc), so its no surprise that Im totally loving all the new vampire stuff and all the dreamy looking vamps.

* Princess by Vera Wang - I love , love the smell of this stuff and the bottle is gorgeously girly. Makes me smell like candy.

* Cross-over body bags - I really want a cross-over body bag. There is a black leather one i spotted the other day that has made my wish list. (It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine...)

My sexy boots revealed

The other day a darling blogger asked to see a picture of my new ankle boots....So, here (above) are a few photos of me (well, my legs) wearing them.

As you can see the heels are rather high and bordering on suicidal (in my opinion anyway). I definitely won't be wearing these boots if I go out to dance or if I plan to trot around the mall for more than an hour *grins*

I think I will probably wear these boots mostly with jeans and not tights. What do you think?

10 Things i learnt this weekend

1. You can drink wine and then study - but dont expect to remember as much as you would normally
2. Everyone needs to own at least one pair of highly impractical, silly high, killer heels (Yup, i bought the sexy boots).
3. I loathe it when the final episode of a TV series doesn't answer all my questions (Battlestar Galactica, how could you do that to me?)
4. Going to gym in winter seems to take way more discipline then I currently have.
5. I haven't been listening to enough new music lately. Some CD shopping is definitely in order.
6. I think Ive been reading way too much Robert Pattinson and New Moon gossip and news online....but i just can't help myself (heehee). Cant wait for the New Moon movie!
7. Anyone who plans to walk across Spain alone for a month is very awesome and brave (Mom, you rock! good luck doing the Camino walk)
8. Shopping for food when hungry is always a bad idea - all kinds of weird food combinations end up in my basket.
9. A sunny day after days of rain puts nearly everyone in a good mood
10. Ive actually been doing ok with my studying, even though its been hard - this makes me feel good.

Happy Friday!

"We seem to be going through a period of nostalgia, and everyone seems to think yesterday was better than today. I don't think it was, and I would advise you not to wait ten years before admitting today was great. If you're hung up on nostalgia, pretend today is yesterday
and just go out and have one hell of a time." ~Art Buchwald

Rainy days, sexy boots and studies

While I totally love winter rain, I have to admit that going outdoors in this kind of weather is not ideal. My hair doesn't have a great relationship with rain, puddles annoy my shoes and my glasses need windscreen wipers to function properly.
I'm starting to think maybe animals that go into hibernation for the whole of winter have the right idea.....*sigh *...I really need to go home and snuggle under the covers for the rest of the day....

I'm totally lusting after a pair of rather expensive ankle boots right now that I saw in a store last week (They look a bit like the picture on the right). I really want to buy them but they are a bit pricey and I tend to stumble in stilettos. Should I risk falling on my face and temporary poverty for them? I'm thinking yes *winks*
>
Lately I have been studying for a horrid exam that is next week - Im very out of practice when it comes to studying, So I will be needing all the quiet time and brain space I can get before the exam....
Unfortunately, my darling blog readers, this means I may not have any time to blog on Mon, Tues and Wed next week (dont be sad, its for the best) - but I will be back as soon as possible.

Have a great Thursday x

TV truth

I'm not really a TV junkie. In fact, most of the stuff on TV I find boring and a waste of time -BUT when it comes to certain TV series I am a massive addict.

Heres a few TV shows that I totally love at the moment (and I dont care what affect they are having on my brain or eyes) *winks*:
Gossip Girl - Could Blair and Chuck be anymore awesome? Could the outfits be any cuter? No, I dont think so...
True Blood - Fang-tastic!
Battlestar Gallactica - I'm almost finished the 4th Season (only a few more episodes to go). Dont even think of telling me what happens at the end.

What TV shows are you loving at the moment?

June goals and a poll

I can't actually believe it is June already...where is this year going ? If the year keeps speeding along like this it may be Christmas time by next month ;)

This month my goals are to:
1. Stay off caffeine - Ive really been doing so well I havent had any caffeine in a month (round of applause please)
2. Get my lazy butt into gym more often - this is always hard in winter, but even more neccesary with all the hibernation food I seem to be eating. lol
3. Save money (well, maybe I can start this after i buy that pair of ankle boots Ive been lusting over)
4. Try to read at least one fictional book this month (ive been reading way too much non-fiction and its making my head hurt)
5. Try to always look at the positives - cause life is too short to be a pessimist

Maybe you have noticed already, but I have a new poll up (on the right). If you bored and feel like telling me how to spend my money, please go ahead and vote. If you dont like any of my options, please feel free to e-mail me any better suggestions *grins*

What are your goals for this month?

Strip Club? ummm....no

Last weekend my birthday party got very tipsy and before the night was through the word "strip club" was flying around like a demented bird on crack. I vaguely recall a tipsy conversation that went something like this:

tipsy guy pal: lets all go to Mavericks (a strip club)
Tipsy Me: Are you being serious?
tipsy guy pal: Ja, I'll even pay for you and The Boyf to get in
Tipsy Me: ummm...no, thanks.....and girls are free anyway
tipsy guy pal: True, but i'll still pay for him and if you dont like it you can both leave
Tipsy Me: Dude, if I want to see a hot naked girl i'll just undress and look in a mirror *chuckles*
tipsy guy pal: *laughter * good point, but I still think you guys should still come anyway
Tipsy me: umm...not gonna happen
tipsy guy pal: It will be fun if we all go as couples
Tipsy me: Sorry, but its really not my thing
tipsy guy pal: Maybe you should have a few more drinks and then we will talk
Tipsy me: I'll never be drunk enough to want to go there *grins*
<
Needless to say some strip club curious people trotted off to Mavericks later that night...without me and The Boyf :)

There is something about half naked (or very naked) women dancing on poles or the thought of The Boyf checking out some strange womans naughty bits (in a public place) that just does not feel cool to me. Maybe to some people this may make me seem insecure or a prude.... but seriously darlings, strip clubs just creep me out and give me "no" feeling.
>
I definitely don't judge anyone who enjoys watching a good pole dance every now and then, but as far as Im concerned I have no plans of visiting a strip club...well...maybe ever.

What do you think of Strip Clubs?
