Eclipse movie thoughts

I hardly ever get out of bed before 6:00 am, but this morning I had an awesome motivation to get me up at 5am - Tickets to a 6am screening of Eclipse at Cavendish with Twinkle ;)

I absolutely loved Eclipse and I do think its the best Twilight saga film so far. I don't want to give any big spoilers (for those of you who have not seen the film yet or read the books), but I will tell you a few things I really liked about this film:
* All the characters hair and make-up was much better than the first two films
* Taylor is a much hotter and more loveable Jacob than he was in New Moon
* Edward and Bella smiled alot more in this film :)
* The soundtrack rocked ( I have it and adore it )
* The tent scene
* The wolves look more realistic
* The part where Bella says "kiss me" and what happens next
*  It does the book justice (-and it was my favourite of the 4 books)
I really cannot wait for the next part, which is the last book in the Twilight Saga, Breaking Dawn (Apparently it has been confirmed that it will be split into 2 films).

Have you seen the movie yet? What did you think?

Happy Friday!

"Your life is your spiritual path. It’s what’s right in front of you. You can’t live anyone else’s life. The task is to live yours and stop trying to copy one you think looks better." -Sandy Nathan

Have a splendid weekend :)

Spotted...

I just spotted this sweet photo of Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart, at the LA premiere of Eclipse, and I just had to share.

I'm so looking forward to seeing the film on Wednesday next week (hope its as enjoyable as the book was).

Are you excited for Eclipse?

Ramblings from a flu infected gal

At the moment I am annoyingly flu infected and feeling rather zombie-like. I should probably be at home in bed, but instead I am busy decorating my work desk with tissues and drinking copious amounts of warm caffeine containing drinks. If I feel worse tomorrow, I promise I will be staying home (pinky swears)

I'm not really sure why, but for the last few weeks I have been a very uninspired and reluctant writer. I think it may just be that I have let my mind get way too cluttered with petty things again and now my writing inspiration has gotten trapped under some silly stress or ridiculous phobia. Anyways, I'm sure it's nothing a small amount of mind de-cluttering  (and maybe a bottle or 2 of good red wine) won't fix *winks*

A random note: At 2 am this morning our geyser exploded. Which means that tonight there will be no hot water at all *gasp*. I am really hoping that The Boyf will be able to fix it, as I honestly don't think I could handle a brain freezing shower tonight.

he's a bright shining example
and a happy twinkling in my heart."
~Terri Guillemets

What are you up to this weekend? I think The Boyf and I will just be taking it easy for most of the weekend (as we  both have not been feeling 100%) and then on Sunday we are going to spend some time with my dad for Fathers Day (click HERE to see some things I might buy for him).

Today I stumbled upon the website days with my father by Phillip Toledano . It is truly beautiful and so heartbreaking. If you have a moment you should check it out (have a tissue handy)

Yesterday and a winter detox

Because yesterday was a public holiday (Youth Day) here and I was feeling a bit under the weather, I decided to just chill out. I avoided my computer (hence no posts yesterday), lay around the house in my pajamas, drank copious amounts of tea, watched some TV and tried to stay warm. It was a nice day (Though, it would have been alot nicer if South Africa had not lost to Uruguay in the soccer last night).

While I really do enjoy the winter months (really, I do), I will openly admit that the lack of sun and warmth often sends me straight to my fridge seeking "comfort", it also encourages me to try bake or buy decadent and chocolate covered things (like these brownies) and always seems to convince me that gym is an absolutely terrible idea *grins*.  Anyways, since I have been overindulging alot lately, The Boyf and I have decided to go on a bit of a detox diet to get us back on a healthier path (I'm not sure which one we are going to try, but i will keep you posted).

How have you been?

And the winner is...

The lucky winner of the fabulous FriedaSophie giveaway is... JJ in LA! Congrats lady, please e-mail me soon.

A new giveaway will be starting today, but it will be for SA residents only (I hope to start another international one soon)

Happy Friday!

"Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising that tempt you to believe your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires some of the same courage that a soldier needs. Peace has its victories, but it takes brave men and women to win them." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Have a wonderful weekend, darlings.

Ps - Good luck South Africa! Hope we win the soccer today and the rugby tomorrow :)

Take a look...

Crazed tweeting

After a few months of not really getting into Twitter,  it seems the "tweet bug" has finally bitten me. Now,  I am slowly (but surely) starting to tweet more and understand why its a helpful networking tool.

While I do think that twitter has alot of positive points about it, It does have some bad points, like:  it has the potential to make bloggers (and by bloggers, I mean me) lazy & very distracted ( I need to find a healthy balance between blogging and tweeting I think) AND there are some people who feel the need to tweet alot of rubbish or way too much info, which often can be more annoying than amusing.

Its for you...

Today my brain has switched to holiday mode. There is such a festive atmosphere in Cape Town at the moment, due to the fact that the World Cup is starting on Friday, that it truly is hard to focus on anything much - So, I decided to do an "Its for you" post :)

How it always works: I will answer all the below questions first, then you can answer the questions in my comments section. Why? because sharing is caring, darlings *winks*

1. Today I am feeling... Happy and very excited for the Soccer World Cup ( I really need to run to the shops now and find a supporter t-shirt)
2. Last night... I ate alot of cheese, watched a x-men cartoon with The Boyf and read my book.
3. At the moment the song in my head is... "Waka Waka" by Shakira and Freshly Ground
4. Drink of the week... cappucinos
5. Currently I spend too much time... trotting around online, reading tweets, wishing I could find some World Cup tickets in Cape Town and watching TV series ;)
6. Which team/s will you be supporting in the Soccer World Cup? South Africa (aka Bafana Bafana)and England

Scarlet in green

I absolutely adore the green, lace, Dolce & Gabbana dress that Scarlet Johansson wore to the MTV Music awards this year. I really want a dress like that.

Even though she looked adorable, it seems that the only thing Scarlet is being rembered for on that night is locking lips with Sandra Bullock. It was just a tiny kiss, but if you have not seen it - click HERE to see and read more about it.

Current addictions

* Dark grey nails - They rock! Essie and OPI make great, dark grey nail colours (just FYI).

* Brie cheese - Currently brie cheese has replaced mint chocolate as my treat of choice. It's so yummy.

* Wonderbra lingerie - I just recently bought a few things by Wonderbra and I really adore them (and the prices are so reasonable). I am defiinitely going to be buying alot more stuff from Wonderbra in the future.

* Soccer stuff- I'm not usually a big soccer fan, but with the World Cup just days away, I think "soccer fever" has started to set in. I just got myself a 2010 FIFA World Cup Official Guide book (R50), the Boyf just put a big South African flag on his bike and I am hoping to go get The Boyf & I some South Africa soccer t-shirts soon.

* Chandeliers - At the moment I am lusting after chandeliers. I really want a little black or white chandelier for my apartment.
