Last week Carlinn, my blogger friend from Superficial Girls, and I trotted off to the Cape Grace Hotel to try out their Afternoon Tea.
Since the weather was rather chilly and drizzly, Afternoon Tea was served in The Library (on sunny days, apparently tea can be served next to the pool area). The Library is filled with plush furnishings, soft lighting and looks out on the yacht marina.
After being shown to our cosy corner of The Library, we ordered some tea (You can choose from a selection of white, black or green tea - I got Earl Grey). The loose-leaf tea is served in a cool glass teapot, which has a little candle under it to keep it warm, and you are given a timer to make sure you brew your tea for the right amount of time.
Along with tea or coffee, the regular Afternoon Tea (which can be ordered for R95 per person) includes a lovely selection of sweet and savoury snacks.
The delicious food arrived on a 3-tired stand and almost looked too good to eat. The selection of food included: cucumber finger sandwiches, traditional scones, salmon bites (I have no idea what they were actually called, but they were so yummy), macaroons and some ridiculously sweet treats.
I must admit, when the food first arrived I thought it may be too little for two people (plus we were both starving), but it turned out to be just the right amount.
Overall, I really enjoyed the Afternoon Tea and would definitely go back again. If you are looking to spoil yourself or have a special afternoon with some girlfriends, I would highly recommend that you try it out.
